Restaureret med kærlighed og lidenskab, har det historiske hus bragt denne gamle bygning frem i nyt lys og pragt, der med sine lounger, det rige bibliotek og det lille, men dejlige museum om livet på landet, er en ægte marmelade fra det 18. århundrede.

Villaen er beliggende i den gamle landsby Castelnuovo Magra, mest berømte højborg Lunigiana; slanke og kraftfulde tårne på slottet bygget i 1273-74 af Henry fra Fucecchio biskop af Luni, dominerer stadig byen.

Castelnuovo har en smuk kirke, hvis arkitektur er tæt påvirket af de linjer, Filippo Brunelleschi gav til kirkerne Santo Spirito og San Lorenzo i Firenze. Templet huser mange marmorstatuer af marmorarbejdere fra det 4. sekstende århundrede på grund af den florentinske og sienesiske inspiration.

“Manuel and his family are gracious hosts. His home has the look and feel of the well-appointed family home that it is. Beautiful terrace for a generous breakfast. There is no food to speak of (one small bar) in Castelnuovo di Magra but Manuel directed us to an excellent restaurant in the next town over where he made our reservations and the food was terrific. The tower in Castelnuovo di Magra has a black and white photography exhibit through Oct that is worth the price of admission.”
